You'll also find a checklist of items to help you stay organized at each step! Please follow the timeline of events, each event noted is set up with a list of FAQ to help better.
-
Can I bring my boyfriend / girlfriend / friend to my session?Absolutely! If you would like to bring a friend along to your session for a few pictures with you, we will set up a time and place to have them meet us, there is no additional charge for this. In most cases, I do recommend that boyfriends and girlfriends do not stay the length of the session because I want you to be fully comfortable being YOU, having fun, and not worrying about what anyone else may be thinking or if they're having enough fun. Your session should be all about you so we try to keep distractions to a minimum.
-
What if I need to reschedule my session? If you need to rescheudle your session and you do so more than 48 hours in advance, I will be happy to reschedule you with no additional fee. I cannot promise immediate availability so sometimes your reschedule won't happen for a few weeks. If you need to reschedule more than once, a $75 reschedule fee will be assessed to your account.
-
What if I want studio, beach, nature, and city images in my session? Which package will I need?"If you would like the maximum variety of locations, you will need to have had purchased The Premium Session to accomodate the time needed to photograph each location.
-
How long after my session will I get to see my pictures? You will be invited to come to your ordering appointment about a week after your senior session. At this time, your order will placed.
-
What if I don't like my clothes / hair / or makeup in my pictures, will be I be able to get a reshoot?"Depending on the time of year, we may be able to set up another session if there is availability. Unfortunately, sometimes people do not like the wardrobe they've selected or the way they colored or cut their hair before their session, and I totally understand. If the reason for a reshoot is not weather (with discretion) related or the fault of the studio, your reshoot will not be discounted. Further, if you are having hair and makeup services done in the studio with one of our professional stylists, it will be your responsibility to let us know prior to shooting if you do not like your makeup application or hair style. We take great pride in always asking if you like how you look but we also do this so that we are all on the same page. If you do not speak up about not liking your hair or makeup until after you see your proofs, you will not be given a new shoot for free.
-
How long will my session last? The amount of time included in your session will depend on which pacakge option you've selected. We have 2 sessions with timelimits and two sessions that have all the time we need. You can find all packages on the INVESTMENT page. If you booked a special edition package (i.e. Black Friday), please inquire to find out how much time you should allot for your session. You are welcome to add time to your session if you do not have enough, or upgrade your package as long as its done prior to anyone booking their session after yours on the same day.
-
What locations are available to me?We have lots of awesome locations in Monroe & Lucas counties. Depending on the package you select, I will have a list of places that I will recommend for you personally based on the vibe you are going for. Here are a few ideas to start considering: Studio Downtown Dundee Downtown Milan Downtown Monroe Dowtown Sylvania Downtown Toledo Sterling State Park- Monroe (for nature or beach) West County Park- Dundee (for nature) We also offer Destination Sessions but these MUST be planned in advance. Sometimes we cannot accomodate destinations due to other sessions being scheduled the same day or the day after yours. Destinations are SO MUCH fun and making your session a destination session does NOT cost as much as you think it does so email me if you have an idea and I'll give you a quote.
-
Will my session be done in your studio or somewhere else?Your session will most likley include a studio portion plus and outdoor location, but it will depend on the package you've selected. With any package, if you don't need or want studio shots, you can use all of your time outdoors, and vice versa.
-
Is travel time included in my session?Yes. The amount of time included in the session you have selected will start from the time you arrive at the studio (or location if you are skipping the studio) and will include the time to photograph, change in and out of outfits, and travel to any locations. Though I don't typically keep sessions to the minute, you can expect that your session will last roughly as long as your package includes, sometimes a few extra minutes.
-
Will I get a preview on social media and can I save and print those pictures if I don't select them for my package? You will absolutely get a little preview on social media! I love showing you a glimpse of our session before you get your images back because I know you are just as excited as I am to see them!! I typically post only what has been purcahsed at your ordering appointment but sometimes I will post a favorite of mine that did not get selected for purchase. Images posted to social media are still the sole property of Lindsay King, and cannot be printed, copied, scanned, etc. Doing so is a voilation of Federal Copyright Laws and come with a fine of $10,000 per image, as defined by law.
-
What kind of retouching is included in my session?I absolutely love editing and retouching, probably almost as much as I love taking the actual picture. For me, the edit and retouch are as important as the actual technique it takes to photograph the session, they all play equal roles in creating the final portrait. Included in the retouch portion is: -Minor Stray hair fix -Teeth cleaning -Eye brightening -Acne removal -Skin smoothing What is NOT included in the standard retouch but can be added on additionally is: -Nail polish fix for chipped nails -Sunburn reduction or Suntan lines -Slimming -Brace removal (in most cases) -and more I HIGHLY recommend using our studio stylist. Though in today's day, so many teens do great makeup with the help of Youtube Tutorials, however, that makeup may not be suitable for a photoshoot. Photoshoot makeup and everyday or going out makeup are NOT the same. Too much highlighter in a photo will make you look oily, not highlighted, for example. Our stylist fee is only $110 but if you have booked the premium session then your hair and makeup are complimentary!! For those using their own makeup skills, if you need corrective retouching to fix your makeup, the fee is $15 per image, but this is totally optional and will only be recommended if needed.
-
If I'm on a payment plan, will I get my digital download images before my payment plan is complete?"Images are not edited or previewed on social media until after your payment plan is paid in full. Once your payment plan has been completed, I will being working on your images and there will be a 2-4 week turn around time depending on the time of year. If you would like information on a PRE-PAYMENT plan, we can create a custom plan for you!
-
How do Payment Plans work?Payment plans are the best, they help you get what you want on any budget! You will have two custom options; a Pre-Payment Plan and a Post-Payment Plan. The Pre-Payment plan allows you to get your order much sooner and starts from the time you are ready to make your first payment toward your order, prior to your session even starting. A Post-Payment Plan happens with your first payment being placed at your ordering session and continuing from there until your balance is paid in full. Images are not edited and orders are not placed until your order is paid in full, which is why people like the Pre-Payment plan to help them get a jump start. Payment Plans are pretty customizable, which means we can do things on terms that work for both the studio and the client. Please inquire if you would like to start a payment plan.
-
What if I need my pictures back sooner than the usual turn around time?No problem! We have a set of Rush Fees for cases like this!! You can opt to have your images turned around in the following timelines as long as it is an available option at the time of your request: PROOFING / ORDERING Appointments: Same day ordering (when available) $125 Next day ordering (when available) $75 Digital Image Rush Turn Around: 3-4 Week Turn Around: Standard & Free 48 Hours, PER IMAGE FEE $35 or entire digital order $250 Physical Product RUsh Turn Around: 1 Week 100% of the price of the product we are ordering.

What should I wear?! (GUYS)What you should wear is entirely up to you!! I do have some suggestions to help you get the most flattering images with the most variety, but in the ends, its really about what YOU want. Colors- Pick colors that are flattering on YOU. Jewel tones (red, blue, purple, green,) and Earth Tones (brown, mocha, tan, burgandy, moss) are my favorites, and I LOVE anything black. Those colors photograph the best because they have a dynamic color depth. Pastels are OK, and flourscents are the bane of my exsistence as they typically do not photograph well and throw lots of "hot" colors onto the skin. When it comes to orange and yellow, just make sure they are "deep" tones, nothing too bright as they will not photograph well at all. Cuts- You will want to make sure that your clothes fit your body. Fitted shirts are great, just make sure they still have clean lines and aren't hugging your body too much, unless that is the look you are going for. Varsity Jackets are great!! Sandals, boots, sneakers, and heels will help give you variety, as well as hats, scarves, and jewelry. You are also welcome to bring any sports uniforms you would like to incorporate!

Fitted shirts are great, but they shouldn't be so tight that we can see bra lines or the outline of your bellybutton. Shirts & Dresses with fun necklines are my favoirte. Look for a variety of necklines; boat neck, v-nect, turtle neck (who knew that would come back in style!), polo stlye, etc. Spaghetti straps are not always flattering due to tanlines and strapless tops can be a little touch and go becuase you'll look naked as a jaybird in your close ups, so please keep those to a minimal. Formal gowns- I LOVE formal gowns incorporated in your session. If you plan on bringing one, please send me a picture so I can do some prepalnning! Varsity Jackets are great!! Sandals, boots, sneakers, and heels will help give you variety, as well as hats, scarves, and jewelry. Get on pinterest or Amazon and type in things like "Women's hats" or "Women's accessoies" and you will find SO MUCH GOOD STUFF to inspire you! Remember, the more you bring, the better our chances we can really make your session unique! You are also welcome to bring any sports uniforms you would like to incorporate! I have wardrobe in the studio and will often pull pieces for our sessions as well.
-
How soon before my session should I color my roots?Typically we recommend that you color your hair no sooner than two weeks prior to your session. This will give your color time to fade (if its a little too vibrant for your liking) adn should be enough time for you to NOT have heavy new growth!
-
Should I spray Tan?Only spray tan if you NORMALLY do it on a regular basis. Please make sure that your tan is even on the day of your session, "chipping" spray tan is NOT included in your retouch as that's something that you can avoid and a very time consuming thing to retouch. If you are planning to tan in a booth or outdoors, please make sure you don't burn or we may have to reschedule!
