Q: If we book a session, what can we expect for the process?
A: The goal of the process prior to the session will be to get to know each other better and discover what kind of vibe your session should have. We will do a consultation in my office, on the phone, or via email, to discuss what your purpose and expectations, as well as what kind of custom art you are looking for for your home; wall portraits, albums, gift prints, digital images, etc.
Once we have planned your session and selected your date, we will photograph your session and follow that up with an in-studio ordering appointment. Once your products are ordered, the turn around time will take anywhere from 3-6 weeks, depending on the products you have selected and the time of year your session is in. June-November are the busiest months and will take closer to six weeks for turnaround.
Q: What happens at the in-studio ordering appointment?
A: The ordering appointment that happens in the studio is for the strict purpose of viewing and ordering your images.Your first ordering appointment is included in your session fee, if you require an additional ordering appointment, you may schedule one Monday - Friday at a rate of $50 per hour. We encourage all financial decision makers to be present at the first appointment as the additional ordering appointment fee will be enforced on all sessions. Your ordering appointment will highlight your best session images. Images that are duplicates, blinks, or have unflattering aspects are immediately removed from the studio system in the initial culling process. You will see everything else, including a showcase of 6-8 retouched images to give you a feel of how your overall edits and retouches will look. Only a handful of images are edited for your appointment so that time isn't spent editing and retouching images you are not interested in purchasing. Images will be previewed on social media only after your ordering appointment.
Q: Do you have payment plans?
A: Yes!! The studio offers both Pre-Pay and Post-Payment plans.Products do not leave the studio until the order is paid in full. Thank you for understanding this policy.
Q: What if the weather isn't ideal the day of our session?
A: If the heat is too much or cold is too harsh, we WILL cancel and reschedule. While I would much rather stick to our original shooting day, it's more important to me that you have a great day with beautiful lighting so that I can achieve the style of editing and photographing that you are most looking forward to.
Q: What if my family doesn't cooperate, will our session time run over?
A: Consideration is always taken for little ones, under grade school age, who just need a little extra time. Its most important to get the gorgeous images, not stick to the timeframe when a toddler just needs to stop and have a drink break. Older children and adults should be advised prior to the session that we are on a time schedule and we hope that they will be in full cooperation mode so we can maximize your session experience. A re-shoot based on behavior that was not addressed during the session will be billed at the full session rate, minus the print credit.
Q: What if I wake up with a break out or my child has a black eye the day of the session?
A: Standard retouching that will cover blemish removal, teeth whitening, etc, are covered in your session fee. Non-typical issues such as a tooth that has fallen out, a black eye, or massive bruise on the face, may be things to consider when deciding whether or not to reschedule your session as they are not included in the typical retouch category.
Q: Are you accepting new family clients?
A: The studio is taking very limited family sessions for 2021, this includes both new and returning family clients. If you would like a family session, it is best to book it immediately as family sessions will likely be booked full for the year by April.
Q: Is there a discount for booking more than one session per year?
A: Yes. After your first full session, a $50 discount will be applied to each additional full session after that. This pricing applies to full sessions only and requires a booking retainer with each date reserved. If you or your business need more than 5 sessions in one calendar year, please inquire for rates.
Q: I heard the studio has wardrobe for kids and teens?
A: Yesssss! We have a wardrobe selection for little girls size 1-14 and teens/women size small - large. If you would like to use the studio wardrobe, PLEASE inquire about doing so when you inquire about booking so that we can send you garment image and any other information that may be necessary. There is NO CHARGE to use the studio wardrobe.
Q: How long in advance do I need to book?
A: Now. Book Now. The studio book typically fills with sessions by May and after that, there are generally just a few spots remaining to be booked. Because we specialize in Seniors, the months of July-October are very difficult to book into and often require a booking a minimum of 6-7 months in advance.
Q:Are you able to support our non-profit organization this year?
A:We are a studio that takes great pride in helping out in our community and both donate and work payment free for special groups throughout the year. Because we have many requests for such services, we carefully filter each request to make sure that we are the right studio to make the most impact for your group. Most charitable contributions have been decided by late January of the current year but please feel free to inquire for your group.
